John Cvetko was appointed to implement and manage TBEC in November 2010. He brings significant business development, training and marketing experience to the role having held senior roles with key private sector and government organisations in the past 15 years across the South Pacific, South East Asia and Australia. His diverse experience includes delivering organizational development activities to organisations such as CISCO Systems Asia and Vodaphone, leading market development for SOBEK, one of Asia’s largest tour operations and the Vanuatu Tourism Office, project management, and the review of South Australia’s regional planning processes for tourism development.

‘Ilaisaane holds a Diploma in Small Business Management and a Certificate in Computer Application and Office Administration (Sydney Australia). ‘Ilaisaane worked for the ANZ Bank in Tonga for 9 years in the areas of Sales & Services, Lending, Administration and International. ‘Ilaisaane also managed the family’s joinery & carpentry business for 4 years. ‘Ilaisaane was recruited on the 1^st of March 2011 as a TBEC Program Officer-Training, responsible for the coordination and delivery of TBEC’s Private Sector Training Program.

Katherine Owenby - Program Assistant (TBEC)

Katherine is a Peace Corps Volunteer from the United States. She received her Master’s of Business Administration in May 2010. She joined TBEC in December 2010 and will be working with them for two years. Her role is to provide program support within TBEC in the development and implementation of Training, Business Mentoring and Capacity Building activities provided and facilitated for Tonga’s Private Sector.
