Request to open your heart

The people of Tonga are going to benefit from the service of the Operation Open Heart Program from Australia next month. Thirty-three volunteer cardiologists, cardiac surgeons, anesthetists and specialists nurses will visit Tonga from 6th-24th of October 2008. They will perform 20-35 needed heart surgeries on sick children and young adults. The surgeons and nurses are donating their own airfare, skills and time. But they need help from local Tongan businesses!

Can you assist provide accommodation, transport, meals or any other suitable donations for these very generous visitors?

Three new training opportunities

1) Tourism, Hospitality, Baking and Hairdressing Training applications are now open for the Australia Pacific Technical College (APTC).

APTC assessors will be visiting Tonga later this month. Completed application forms (for both Admission & Scholarship) are to be received by Sr Koleti (phone 25091 or 77977) at ‘Ahopanilolo Technical College before Friday 19th September 2008. 2) Advanced Refrigerator Maintenance courses are been run by MLCI. Contact Mr Nagaya at MLCI for full details.
