TCCI Annual General Meeting 2009

The Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industries INC. conducted its Annual General Meeting (AGM) today, Tuesday 17/03/2009 at the Euro Asia Bar and Restaurant.

The Tonga Chamber of Commerce & Industries Inc. then elected the following for the Council Members 2009.

President: Paula Taumoepeau (Nautilus Minerals Tonga)
Vice President: Tsutomu Nakao (J.H. Nakao Holding Ltd.)

Secretary: Tricia Emberson (‘Alatini Fisheries Co. Ltd.)
Assistant Secretary: Dana Stephenson (Kool Tonga Ltd. / New)

Treasurer: Suliana Afu (Pacific Management Consultants / New)
Assistant Treasurer: Aloma Johansson (R.Albin Johansson Co.)

Legal Advisor: Jennifer Tupou (JK Chartered Accountants Ltd. / New)

Councillors:       Tevita Kaitu’u Fotu (Polynesian Airlines)
                        Molisoni ‘Otukolo (Fua ‘o e Fonua)    
                        Paula Tu’utafaiva (E.M. Jones Ltd.)
                        Leta Havea Kami (Tonga Development Bank Ltd. / New)

The position of Senior Vice President is occupied by the immediate past president which is still Mr. Tapu Panuve. A total of 6 new council and alternate council members were elected to the Chamber Councillors for 2009.

2009 Annual General Meeting (AGM)

TCCI Annual General Meeting will be held at 12.30pm, Tuesday 17 March at EuroAsia on Taufa'ahau Road, Nuku'alofa. The 2008 Annual Report will be presented and elections for the 2009 TCCI Council will be held.

TCCI Strategic Work Plan

The Tonga Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) today released its strategic work plan for the first time.

“This plan sets our direction for the next 3-5 years. Among other things, we are amending our Constitution, aiming to get representation on the Electricity Commission and produce annual calendars of local events and overseas trade shows,” said Mr Paula Taumoepeau, President of TCCI.

This is the first time TCCI has formally produced and released a strategic plan, making it a significant step for the organisation.

TCCI Annual Planning day

TCCI held its annual planning day on Saturday 29^th November at Likualofa Resort. The Planning day was facilitated by ‘Alise Stunnenberg from the Forum Secretariat. It was a very productive day and TCCI looks forward to providing Members the business plan for 2009 and strategic goals for the next five years for comment very soon.
