Ministry of Labour, Commerce & Industry (MLCI) ‘Online Company Registry’ was launched on the 18^th of November, 2009.  This has been through the cooperation of MLCI with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and New Zealand Ministry for Economic Development (NZMED).  On the 1^st December, 2009, MLCI will go-live with the new ‘Online Company Registry’ designed by NZMED and funded by IFC.  This electronic registry will cut down on the time involved in starting a business, and to provide the public with an accessible and easy searchable database of companies in Tonga. 

All Companies Must Re-Register with MLCI by May 31, 2010.  As part of the switch to a new electronic company registry, the Ministry for Labour, Commerce & Industries is overseeing a 6 month re-registration period for ALL COMPANIES registered in Tonga. There is no cost to re-register, but re-registration must be completed by MAY 31, 2010.  Re-registration Forms are available at the MLCI office in Fasi or at www.companies.gov.to .
